Frequently Asked Questions about Skype for Business (students / guests)
- I don't have an email in Panteion University.
You do not need to have a Panteion University email to participate to Skype for Business meetings distance lessons.
- Which email should I enter to attend the online lesson?
It depends on how teams and links were created:
1. Lesson is public: selecting the link will transfer you to the e-lesson. Attendance is free and no identification is required.
2. Lesson is closed (via student emails in eclass): enter the email you stated in the eclass platform (the one where you received the meeting alert), then the password. Select "PANTEION UNIVERSITY - Guest" to access the teams you have been added to.
- I downloaded the Skype for Business mobile app, but it keep asking me to sign in with some business email address.
Do not run the standalone app. Links to meetings will be made available on the e-class platform or on your Department website, depending on the chosen policy of each Dept. You should select each link directly. This will allow you to log in as a guest. Detailed instructions for students are available on this page (search for English instructions).
- I can't open the link the teacher shared.
- I have a Mac. Can I use Skype for Business?
Skype for Business on Mac is available from OS X El Capitan (10.11) and later. To find out which version of the operating system you are running, select About This Mac from the Apple menu. - During the sharing of a ppt presentation, my smartphone shows a black screen. What can I do;
Inform the teacher of the problem - it can be solved via window sharing, ie. sharing the whole PowerPoint window, not the presentation only.
